This minor releases include 1 security fixes following the security policy:
- cmd/go: unexpected command execution in untrusted VCS repositories
Various uses of the Go toolchain in untrusted VCS repositories can result in
unexpected code execution. When using the Go toolchain in directories fetched
using various VCS tools (such as directly cloning Git or Mercurial repositories)
can cause the toolchain to execute unexpected commands, if said directory
contains multiple VCS configuration metadata (such as a '.hg' directory in a Git
repository). This is due to how the Go toolchain attempts to resolve which VCS
is being used in order to embed build information in binaries and determine
module versions.
The toolchain will now abort attempting to resolve which VCS is being used if it
detects multiple VCS configuration metadata in a module directory or nested VCS
configuration metadata (such as a '.git' directoy in a parent directory and a
'.hg' directory in a child directory). This will not prevent the toolchain from
building modules, but will result in binaries omitting VCS related build
information.
If this behavior is expected by the user, the old behavior can be re-enabled by
setting GODEBUG=allowmultiplevcs=1. This should only be done in trusted
repositories.

DinD (dind.sh)
DinD is a wrapper script which allows Docker to be run inside a Docker container. DinD requires the container to be run with privileged mode enabled.
Generate Authors (generate-authors.sh)
Generates AUTHORS; a file with all the names and corresponding emails of individual contributors. AUTHORS can be found in the home directory of this repository.
Make
There are two make files, each with different extensions. Neither are supposed
to be called directly; only invoke make. Both scripts run inside a Docker
container.
make.ps1
- The Windows native build script that uses PowerShell semantics; it is limited
unlike
hack\make.shsince it does not provide support for the full set of operations provided by the Linux counterpart,make.sh. However,make.ps1does provide support for local Windows development and Windows to Windows CI. More information is found withinmake.ps1by the author, @jhowardmsft
make.sh

make testto run all tests found intest,test-unit,test-integration, andtest-docker-pyon your local machine. The default timeout is set inmake.shto 60 minutes (${TIMEOUT:=60m}), since it currently takes up to an hour to run all of the tests. - When running inside a Docker development container,
hack/make.shdoes not have a single target that runs all the tests. You need to provide a single command line with multiple targets that performs the same thing.
